CORIGQI Presents on April 29 at ELEVATEPX

The session will focus on the challenge of mitigating a COVID-19 meatpacking plant outbreak where those impacted faced numerous barriers in meeting their health and social needs. We will illustrate how patient advisors with lived experience were vital in safely recruiting vulnerable and stigmatized potential participants to be interviewed to provide feedback on their experience with the health system during an outbreak of COVID 19. We will also demonstrate the challenges primary care physicians face in identifying and meeting the social needs of patients, demonstrate the challenges that social service agencies face when attempting to liaise with the health system and demonstrate how empowering patient advisors and the drivers of change in planning, testing and iterating solutions for the crucial moments that matter to patients result in actionable changes.
