Patient Experience Survey Results
from the vaccination clinic held at Sofina Foods

After a successful on-site vaccination drive at the meatpacking plants where with multiple entities including Government of Alberta, Primary Care Network Doctors, Alberta Health Services Nurses, and various other agencies coming together rapidly to vaccinate - the following is a brief analysis of preliminary data from the Patient Experience survey done by the CORIGQI team at the Sofina Foods Plant. We had 440 Sofina Foods workers vaccinated in 11hrs!

Vaccination Run Chart by Hour

There was a steady and consistent stream of workers coming in to get vaccinated throughout the day, with a greater surge in the early hours from those coming off the line from a 3rd shift.

Vaccination Experience Rating

Overall the clinic was a huge a success, with the majority of the workers are the plant being highly statisfied by how the clinic was run.

Vaccination Experience Feedback

Much of the general feed back written in by the workers modeled around how fast and easy the experience was. The general feeling was that it was a great experience wherein they learned about the vaccine, had clear communication and was done in a very efficient manner, creating a great patient friendly experience as seen from the bulk of the comments.

Vaccination Recommendation to friends and family

With much misinformation going around we were worried about vaccine hesitancy and whether they would recommend family and friends to get the vaccine when they were eligible. An overwhelming majority responded that they would encourage friends and family to get the vaccine, with very few responding no.

Demographics:

Ethnic Makeup

Based on the question of primary language spoken at home, we were able to also extrapolate the general ethnic minority make up of the workers at the plant.

From the results we have seen natives from East Asia - majority from the Philippines (Tagalog, Ilocano), Vietnam (Vietnamese), Chinese (Chinese, Cantonese) making up the largest group. This is followed by South Asians (Punjabi, Bengali, Farsi), and finally African populations consisting of people from Ethiopia/Eritrea/South Sudan (Amharic, Tigrinya, Oromo, Dinka, Nuer, Arabic).

Break down by Age groups:

We noticed that the majority of the workers were aged between 40-60+ (77.6%). We can infer from this, either the workers do not ordinarily have the resources to access the vaccination or were possibly hesitant to seek out the vaccine on their own, especially given that by the time the clinic was run, any one over the age of 40 was otherwise eligible to get vaccinated in the Province of Alberta.

Identified Gender

Gender make up as noted was almost even split amongst the workers at the plant.
